How else to combat the foolishness in so many wine reviews? Hence, the fourth  do-it-yourself wine review.

In the glass, this white wine:
sparkles in the sunlight, like a fine gem.reminds me of skiing at Biarritz, clean and fresh.is actually brown; is something wrong with it?looked like white wine. What’s it supposed to look like?

I smelled the wine, and:
started giggling. Do people really do this?I could tell it had reached its mineral-laced pinnacle, as only white Burgundy can.the aggressively herbaceous, grassy pungency was obvious.it smelled like alcohol. Cool.

I tasted the wine, and:
I was surprised it didn’t taste like a vanilla cupcake, like the back label said it would.it was super smooth.it was redolent of French oak, caramel and vanilla, and the aftermath of sur lie aging.it wasn’t sweet enough.

All in all, I’d say the wine:
was intensely aromatic, with perfectly ripened fruit and white floral notes.was super smooth and tasty.was OK, although I liked the label more than the wine.was so good I will buy another bottle. If I remember its name.
